Ultrasonic cw Generator

Ultrasonic cw Generator

Understanding wave theory is fundamental to any physics education. When you’re ready to explore this topic here’s a Wave Generator with all the features you want, and more! Use it to generate high-energy ultrasonic continuous waves (CW), or stationary waves with a special test vessel (U10008) whose transducer mounting allows exact vertical alignment of the ultrasonic probe. The generators’ transmission power can be adjusted continuously and activated or deactivated independently via the voltage supply on the ultrasonic transducer. The integrated LCD display makes reading your measurements trouble-free. You can select from three preset transmitting frequencies (2, 4 and 8 MHz) and an auxiliary monitor output allows an even more precise scrutiny of the actual transmitting frequency when attached to an oscilloscope or digital counter. The device includes a piezo-ultrasonic transducer in a die-cast metal housing, a 1 m connecting cable and a BNC plug. The laser diodes are controlled by a separate output which can also be activated / deactivated separately. The diffraction patterns obtained for various test liquids (for instance, water, glycerin, cooking oil) from the Debye-Sears experiment can be used to determine the length of the sound waves and, accordingly, the speed of sound in each liquid. Thought Provoking Experiment Idea: Sound waves can be projected directly by shining divergent light beams, produced by a convex lens, through the vessel. The distribution of the stationary wave's density appears in the form of changes in brightness on the projection screen. Frequency: 2 MHz, 4MHz, 8MHz, adjustable via a selector switch Output signal: Sinusoidal, continuously adjustable from 5 Vpp to 50 Vpp, with independent disconnection facility and indicator lamp Output power: Max. 25 watt Connection: BNC jack Voltage display: 3-digit LCD Height of digits: 10 mm Monitor signal: TTL to BNC socket Laser output: 3 V DC, max. 300 mW at jack socket, with independent disconnection facility and indicator lamp Dimensions: 256 mm x 86 mm x 156 mm Mains voltage: 115 / 230 V, 50/60 Hz Power consumption: Approximately 30 VA Ultrasonic transducer: Piezo-ceramic, 16 mm Ø Dimensions: 65 mm x 27 mm Ø
